Thyroid Issues and Red Light Therapy

Recently, we started working with a client who has a long history of thyroid issues and is currently suffering from hypothyroidism. Her symptoms are so severe, concerns have been expressed as to the possible onset of Parkinson's disease.
The client's initial visit exhibited very lanquid speech. It seemed like a struggle just to answer "yes" or "no" questions. Her personality was blunted and she struggled with all movements, even walking. She was prescribed medication but it didn't appear to be working well. There was also a large hematoma on one leg, and small ones on both arms.
I decided to start with the standard treatment for thyroid issues and utilized several wavelengths of red and near-infrared, adding in some yellow to hasten the healing of the skin. The first session was 12 minutes.
After the first session the client sat down at the reception desk and stated that she wanted to commit to 5 sessions a week, for four weeks. I think I was a little stunned and questioning my own perception, so I didn't say anything. Then the client asked if she was wishful thinking, or was she talking faster. It was true! Her speech was still slower than average, but she wasn't struggling to speak!
Now, obviously I'm a big believer in red light therapy and I have had the pleasure of witnessing some amazing things in the 6 months we've been open. But light is cumulative! We can use techniques and equipment that will give pain relief in one visit, but I have never viewed anything like this!
On the second visit the client came in and though her expressions were still blunted I could see a smile in her eyes. She was so excited to see what another treatment would reveal. Over the previous 24 hours she had also realized the hematomas were shrinking in a much faster rate.
This time we utilized the same wavelengths as before, for 12 minutes, and this time she wasn't just talking faster, she was moving faster and had a slight smile on her face! We sat down and had a real conversation for 15 minutes, and marveled at the miracle that was happening for her.
I can't explain why her body reacted so quickly to the red light treatment, but it seems to be exactly what she needed. I went back down the research hole and maybe she has just the right nutrients in her body. There is some great research on thryroid diseases/disorders and red light therapy (links below), in the National Library of Medicine and I'm attaching some links for your curiousity.
Red light therapy is still new to the U.S. If you're curious about how red light therapy can help you, contact us today to learm more or schedule a session.
Desperation for relief is what brought me to this point ❤️
